Reinhart Library

The Reinhart Library was established in memory of Rabbi Dr. Harold Reinhart, Minister of Westminster Synagogue from its inception in 1957 until his death in August, 1969.  The collection of books reflects the diverse backgrounds and interests of our congregants and is probably one of the most up-to-date Jewish libraries in London. In addition to the main library, we also maintain Rabbinic and Reference libraries which are available to our members by appointment, as well as the Children’s Library described below.

If you would like to peruse the Library catalogue before coming to Kent House, please click here. You can browse the titles by category, and search the catalogue by title or author. Our Featured Books section also highlights books that we feel are of particular current relevance.

The library is open to members every Saturday morning, and weekdays by appointment.  To reserve a book, send us an email with the title and author and we will reserve it for you. If you can't find a particular book you are looking for, please let us know what it is by email and the Library Committee would be delighted to look into obtaining a copy.

Children’s Library

The Children’s Library can be found on the lower ground floor in our education area next to our classrooms. The library features fiction and non-fiction books for all ages covering a variety of Jewish topics including history, festivals and folk tales. Children are encouraged to take books home to read and families are encouraged to share these books together.

The Children’s Library can also be found on line; to access click here.

Would you like to support the library?

  1. Adopt a Book - if you would like to sponsor a book on our wish-list, please feel free to check the Wishlist to select one, or if you have a book in mind, click here to email a member of the Library Committee, who will be in touch with you.
  2. Volunteer Your Time - there's always something to do in one of our four libraries at Kent House.

Most of all, please come and browse the shelves of YOUR library and borrow a book for yourself or a member of your family.
