In this mini-series, we will explore the literal, theological and symbolical meanings of prayers you encounter week by week in our Friday Night booklet. We will focus on the prayers’ structure and meaning and ask ourselves what spirituality means to us and how it manifests.

Specifically, we will delve deeper into the main three sections of the Friday Evening service and learn about the overall structure of evening services. Further, we will explore how one part connects to the next and what to do with our bodies, thoughts, and minds when we pray.

Tuesday 4th March - Kabbalat Shabbat and its meaning and theology

Tuesday 11th March - Shema Yisrael and its surrounding blessings

Change of date: Tuesday 1st April - Amidah - the standing prayer

As it is a series, it's preferable to commit to all three dates, to get the most out of the course.
