Chuliyot - Community Singing - 2 Year Anniversary!

Friday, 21 March, 2025 21 Adar 5785

7:30 PM - 9:00 PMLibrary

We are very excited for our 2nd anniversary celebration of Chuliyot on Friday 21st March. Ever since its inception in the current format, Chuliyot has always held a special place in our minds and souls, and it will be exciting to mark this milestone with a meaning-filled evening — one that brings us together through song, reflection, and shared stories.

🕯🕯6.30pm - Our beloved music-led Friday service, in the library (with a bit of pre-service singing starting 6:20)

🎶 7.30pm - a shorter Chuliyot session with an easy and fun niggun

🍽 8.00pm - Dinner of Significance (this is where you can truly contribute)

The Dinner will be a potluck-style buffet, where everyone is encouraged to bring a dish that holds personal meaning. Think of a dish that tells a story—something tied to your identity, your past, or a special memory. A few ideas:

  • An ethnic or cultural dish
  • A dish that represents your hometown
  • Something you ate as a child, or eat during special life moments
  • A Shabbat dish (or a Festival dish: Pesach, Sukkot etc) you particularly enjoy
  • A dish that introduced you to a new culture, or a different way of eating
  • A dish taught to you by a role-model (grandparents, friend, teacher)
  • Something that brings you comfort or nostalgia
  • A meal you love to make when hosting, or that represents hospitality

- Please notice that the dish needs to be fish/vegetarian and no nuts -

To ensure a balanced meal (and not just an all-dessert dinner… though tempting!), two wonderful people, Claire Colomb and Danny Perez, are graciously going to co-ordinate this. Expect your suggestions to be directed to them, and they may approach you separately.

During dinner itself, we will all get a chance to share the stories of the dishes and get to know one another even better through the food.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
