Members can now support Westminster Synagogue’s fund-raising efforts simply by clicking onto http://www.buy.at/westminstersynagogue and follow the SHOP AND DONATE link to make purchases with your favourite stores or internet businesses, amongst them:
Amazon . ELC . Hertz . HMV . John Lewis . M&S . Sky . Teleflorist . Tesco . Waterstones .... and now even E-BAY!
It won't cost you a penny more than going to these organisations’ websites directly and the Synagogue can earn up to 10% of the value of your purchases. You pay exactly the same price as on the retailers’ main sites, often lower than on the high street. The commission earned by the Synagogue comes out of the retailer’s profit margin - it is their marketing spend. This money will be used to help fund our activities.
You can also encourage your family and friends to do their Internet shopping and even Chanukkah purchases through buy.at too.
We hope you will find your favourite retailers at buy.at. If not, please let us know by contacting email@example.com and we will see if we can get them added. Here are just a few of retailers who are participating in the “buy.at” scheme:
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Buy.at?
Buy.at is a simple concept. All online purchases via links on this page generate commission. Transactions by cheque or over the telephone do not generate commission.
How does it work?
When you click on any links you will be taken through to specific retailers' own websites. They are responsible for your order and credit card security.
At no time during the experience on the retailer’s sites should you edit the web address in the address bar. This will disable the commission being earned.
What retailers can I shop at through Buy.at?
There are lots there, including household names like Amazon, the AA, Barclays, Carphone Warehouse… John Lewis, Marks & Spencer… Go to the A-Z tab for a full list.
The synagogue will receive commission from any of the retailers listed on the Buy.at site if you purchase from them in the way set out above.
Are there any charges for using Buy.at?
No. Buy.at is a completely free service.
What commission does the Synagogue receive?
The commission rate for a retailer is displayed with the retailer names in the A-Z tab at the top of the page. Any other information you need to know about this retailer will also be displayed. This information and the commissions apply equally whether a link or an image (such as a special offer image) is used to reach the retailers’ sites.
What about Cookies?
For commission to be earned, you must have third party cookies enabled. If you use a Mac it is particularly important to note this, as the default settings are to reject third party cookies. Windows-based machines however usually have third party cookies enabled by default.
