In true Westminster-style, Lord Howard Leigh and Lord Andrew Feldman hosted the first Westminster Patrons event on Wednesday, 16th March.
The co-chairmen welcomed lay leaders and long-serving members of the Executive and Council, as well as representatives from our Young Professionals and a group of help teachers who were invited to attend this special occasion at which the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon David Cameron was the Guest Speaker.
The Prime Minister spoke about his support of the Jewish community and of its security concerns. He also spoke passionately about the Holocaust Memorial & Museum initiative, which he is proud to be spear-heading. We were honoured that he accepted to accompany Rabbi Thomas on a visit to the Scrolls Museum on the third floor.
The money raised through the Patrons initiative will support the Synagogue’s cultural & educational programming. This year we will be hosting our first Limmud-style event, Westminster Chai, a day of active Jewish learning on Sunday, 12th June.
