Literary Evening: Franz Kafka at the Czech Embassy

On 26th June 2019 we got to enjoy a great evening at the Embassy of the Czech Republic. An events organised in great partnership between the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of Israel and Westminster Synagogue, saw participants from all three organisations enjoy an evening together learning more about, and perhaps different sides to, the great Franz Kafka.

We had the pleasure of listening to opening words by H.E. Libor Sečka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in London, by H.E. Mark Regev, Ambassador of Israel in London and by our Emeritus Rabbi Thomas Salamon. After interesting presentations from the panelists Ms Judita Matyášová, Mr William Pimlott and Ms Anat Messing Marcus, they all came together for Q&A session, lead by Rabbi Thomas, all of which provided great discussions at the reception that followed.

A great thank you goes out to the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of Israel, our own team of volunteers and staff, and to our member Kate, who had an idea a couple of years ago. An idea, which became reality last night.
