Join us as we offer a short course in the meaningful learning of Torah, over lunch. These sessions will be from 12.45 to 14.15 at Kent House, after our Saturday morning service, so you could just stay after the service, or if you need a sleep-in, you could come straight to the class.
We will adopt the same empowering methodology in each session; that of looking at a small section of Torah, raising all the personal, philosophical and practical questions that it raises, and exploring, via a range of methodologies and commentaries, the psychological and practical lessons we can learn for our lives. I believe that we all have a stake in the Torah, and that each of us, with a bit of practice could, through these classes, learn to give a D'var Torah or a sermon. More importantly, we can each find support and guidance in it, with a little help and training. You can come to one or all of these sessions.
To top it off, we will have a larger Oneg, or Lunch & Learn on the 11th of August in which we will explore the question, (via Zadie Smith and the Talmud Tractate Brachot, page 30b-31a) of: what is the difference between pleasure and joy and how can I bring more joy to my life and to my Judaism?
Please let us know if you're coming by booking in on the next page.
